Every horse's journey is a little different and Aries is proving that every day. After spending my first six months getting to know him, I realized he was ready for a little more education. While he has always been incredibly kind and willing, it turns out he was more gentle than truly broke. So, off to college he went! Aries is now training with Tim Anderson Ranch and Horse Training‍ ‍where he's building confidence, learning the fundamentals and becoming the partner I know he can be.

He's doing an amazing job and despite being called a girl on his very first day at "college" he's taking every lesson in stride. Thankfully, he didn't seem too offended and neither was I. When Aries arrived at Roberts Ranch in January 2026, we were both stepping into something new.

At four years old, this Friesian cross gelding was adjusting to a new environment, a new herd and a new routine. I was learning what it means to care for and build a relationship with a young horse. As it turns out, both of us had a lot to learn.

The first few months have been less about riding and more about learning the fundamentals of horse care. From hoof care and grooming to finding the right nutrition program, every day has brought something new. After plenty of research and advice from experienced horse owners, Aries now enjoys a feed program built around Omolene 100, quality alfalfa hay from Grand Bay Alfalfa Pomaika'i Farm and access to forage and shelter at Roberts Ranch 24/7.
